Education may well be a question of memory, if you have a good memory then you remember facts therefore your “intelligent”. Now if by chance you do not, “your not”. This is what happens in too many schools and classrooms worldwide, that is a fact behind which we should no longer hide. I truly believe that Synectics & brainstorming should be introduced into our classrooms and offices. Brainstorming is an exchange, a creative intellectual challenge. Synectics is an approach to brainstorming, which is based on creative thinking with people with knowledge and experience from different horizons i.e. parents, colleagues, teachers and pupils. SYNECTIKOS in Greek means “bringing different elements into unified connection”. I encourage you to introduce the above technique/concept be it on a personal and/or professional level with Entheos. If you are a teacher or if you are a student or a politician and you and your country are in need of a model then I encourage you to take a very close look at the Finnish education system.

I believe that we should all be taught how to learn and I believe that we should all be shown how to learn and I sincerely believe that no man, woman or child should be left behind. I also believe that we should take the time to understand and love people/children before teaching and programming them for the future.

Remember that you have not taught until they have learned

I encourage you to find out all you can about John Dewey (1859-1952) he was an American philosopher, psychologist, and educational reformer and the father of contextual learning. I also encourage you to read an amazing book he wrote entitled “Democracy & Education”. I believe that education should be a question of collaboration and I also believe that the world is truly in need of a lot more “political humanists”.

COMMUNICATION & SEMANTICS

Semantics is the study of the meaning of linguistic expressions.

Meaning in language is studied by linguists.

I encourage you to read an amazing book entitled “New horizons in the study of language and mind” by Noam CHOMSKY.

Noam CHOMSKY Ph.D. is a linguist and a philosopher and an author with a truly amazing vision. I also encourage you to find out more about a truly amazing lady called Lera BORODITSKY whose work I truly admire. Lera BORODITSKY is a leader in Cognitve Linguistics. In linguistics and cognitive science, cognitive linguistics refers to the school of linguistics that understands language creation and learning.

EDUCATION

Education is a question of preparation. Are we prepared to be prepared, to be programmed? Did you know that human beings are genetically programmed, programmed to learn?

The famous Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom talks about programming, human programming and does so with passion. I sincerely encourage you to find out all you can about Nick Bostrom and human programming.

NB Nick Bostrom along with David Pearce founded the World Transhumanist Association in 1998. The W.T.A is a non-governmental organization which advocates the ethical use of emerging technologies to enhance human evolution.

At what age did your preparation begin and at what age did your preparation end and why?

I truly encourage you to become an Autodidact.

Education should be a never ending adventure and I believe that education should be an eternal source of fascination, fascination for mankind and nature, human nature i.e. humanism.

Education should be a question of how we learn and not simply a question of what we learn. Education is a form of love and should be colourful and fun, now there is an idea worth brainstorming?

I believe that education is not a question of bad students or bad teachers like I am sure we have all been or seen. I believe that it is a question of communication and passion. I believe that communication and passion may well be the solution to education. I believe that we should communicate/teach and learn with passion. I believe just like Dr Doreen Kimura in “academic freedom” and I am sure you will too when you find out more about this amazing lady and “academic freedom”.

Education is not only a question of orientation and tradition, education is also a question of creation, determination, innovation and imagination. Education should be a question of development, personal development, physical, psychological and spiritual development.
